Mount Apo-- A Sitting Mountain

The text which was entitled, "The Mysterious Mountain" By: Fr. Miguel, S.J., was all about the highest mountain of the Philippines-Mt. Apo,located in Davao.Physical characteristics of Apo were being elaborated, how and why it was being named as such, its sorrounding, the speculationsof geologist about it and, the reason why, it is cosidered as a sitting mountain.



According to the geologist, Mt.Apo is being located on top of another mountain that adds its height, and their term for this occurence was "Apo is like a rider on horseback", by the description itself, the horse was the Cordillera.Wen you are going to compare to someone elses life,it could be in a situation, wherein you are using someone,it could be his/her capacity and potentials for the achievement of your own interests. Its greatness, which can be seen physically by its height, fits its name- Apo which means both "LORD" and "ANCIENT ANCESTOR"- "the grandfather of the mountains".

No one lives near to Mt. Apo, and so it explains, that it is being sorrounded with jungle and virgin forest, meaning untouched nature. To preserve its beuty, we all need to do sort of things toward its goodness for it is a gift from GOD, bestowed upon us human and we ought to take the most of care on it.
